I'm so glad that you asked! My people hail from Latvia: a real, tiny, lovely country on the Baltic Sea. My name is from a Latvian play that was made into a movie in 1973. My dad was fond of the actress that played Zane, so he named me after the character, not the actress. Kinda...not what you would expect! But he was a poet, so he was very good at doing unexpected things.

I’ve had a pretty unconventional path through life, with a lot of hardship served up front at the beginning. In fact I almost didn’t pursue my heart’s desire to act at all. But I did. I started taking classes again in 2018, got my MFA in Film and TV (with a Screenwriting concentration) during the pandemic, and fully committed to pursuing acting as a career in 2023. I feel very invigorated and like I’m exactly where I need to be.
